Critical Thermal & Structural Engineering
Zone-Specific Refractory Architecture
To maximize furnace campaign life (typically 8 to 12+ years depending on glass type), refractory materials are specified according to the exact chemical attack, thermal shock, and glass velocity of each furnace zone:
Melting Zone Sidewalls & Corrosion Line: High-density Fused Cast AZS (Alumina-Zirconia-Silica) or High-Chrome refractories to resist severe molten glass attack and upwards drilling erosion.
Furnace Bottom: Multi-layer safety lining featuring heavy paving blocks over high-density corrosion barrier materials to prevent glass penetration and thermal loss.
Crown (Roof): Silica or Fused Cast Alpha-Beta Alumina refractories selected for thermal stability, zero drip pollution, and resistance to alkaline vapor attack.
Throat & Doghouse: Reinforced high-corrosion-resistant Fused Cast AZS blocks engineered to handle localized high glass flow velocities and extreme thermal transitions.
Regenerator Checkerwork: High-purity Magnesite, AZS, or bonded refractory geometries optimized for thermal storage efficiency, structural stability under cyclic heating, and resistance to batch carryover.
Combustion & Temperature Control System
Stable glass quality requires tight control over temperature gradients, flame geometry, and internal atmospheric pressure:
Advanced Burner Ports: Custom port angles and air/fuel mixing geometries ensure maximum flame coverage and heat transfer efficiency while minimizing localized hotspot degradation.
Closed-Loop Automation: Integrated PLC/SCADA architecture with real-time temperature monitoring, automatic reversing mechanisms (for regenerative systems), combustion air-fuel ratio control, and micro-differential furnace pressure regulation.
Precision Forehearth Delivery: Multi-zone forehearth heating and cooling controls deliver thermally homogeneous glass gobs or streams to downstream forming equipment at precise viscosity levels.
We provide comprehensive lifecycle support for glass manufacturing facilities, ensuring seamless execution from raw material analysis to final thermal commissioning.
